The History Of The Lehrhoff Family Of Companies

I. Lehrhoff & Co, Inc, was founded in 1918 as an advertising specialty and incentive firm. While we still maintain a division that handles that business, our business has changed in both direction and size over the years. Today our primary business is the distribuition of small appliances, housewares, personal care products, shavers, clocks, watches, seasonal products, floor care, electronics, and various other related products.

In 1995 a decision to diversify our company was made and we acquired Sterling Import-Export Inc.. Sterling is a company that does exclusive distribution for the United States for several lines of tableware, giftware, candles, and cookware. In just a few short years this division has grown temendously and now enjoys strong relationships with some of our nations largest retailers.

Just a few months after aquiring Sterling, we came across another opportunity. We brought into the fold a person who had for years operated his own premium company. What he needed was the warehouse and fulfillment capabilities and financial backing we could provide. Integrated Premuim Concepts was born and expanded what had existed at Lehrhoff since it's inception into a full fleged premium incentive company. It now provides fulfillment programs to customers such as Cendant, American Express, Henry Schein, Nabisco, and others.

The Companies are located in a brand new 150,000 square foot facility (with 38 foot ceilings) in Edison, NJ.. Our customer base has expanded as a result of diversification to include all of the U.S. as well as some overseas. Our sales staff includes ten people who work the local markets as well as eight independent rep groups around the country.

Our EDI capabilities as well as other automated communication methods make order processing and on time fulfillment a way of life here. The computer system gives us the ability to generate custom reporting to satisfy all of our customer needs. Our long standing personal relationship with our suppliers give us the ability to offer our customers opportunistic purchases, as well as price protection, and season ending buy-ins.
